In The Yard, Hokusai is known as a Corgi who is all chest, gossip, and forgiving eyes. Hokusai has been seen circling the leaning tree for hours, mapping its bad ideas in private. There is a corner of the cracked freeway loop where Hokusai is unofficially assumed to be in charge of nothing in particular. Every so often Hokusai stumbles on a relic too odd to explain and wisely decides to explain it anyway.
